Welcome to Glasgow City Council's
Committee Information pages. Here you will find details of meetings of
the Council, its committees, sub-committees and working groups together
with public documents associated with those meetings, including agendas,
reports and minutes. Confidential items are not available.
All minutes are available from the formation of Glasgow City Council in 1995, while agendas and reports are generally available from early 2001. All documents relating to the Council, committees or sub-committees are available, while for Area Committees, the Police and Fire Joint Boards and Strathclyde Passenger Transport only minutes are available. No documents are available for other meetings listed in the diary such as the Licensing Board or Working Groups.
Agendas and reports will normally be available 3 days before the date
of the meeting and minutes will normally be available within 2 days of
the meeting.
Please note agendas and reports do not necessarily reflect the final agreed position of the Council on any matter, only the minutes record the final decisions.
The Council and its committees meet every six weeks, except during the
Council Recess which lasts for 6 weeks during July and August and for 4
weeks at Christmas. Some sub-committees meet more
often because of the volume of business. Almost all meetings are held
in the City Chambers, 2nd floor and are open to members of the public
to attend and observe the proceedings. Where the business is confidential
the committee or sub-committee may agree to exclude the public in terms
of the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985. The agenda will
show whether the public is likely to be excluded.
To view the Council Diary click on "Meetings List Search" above.
The Council Diary lists meetings of the Council, committees, sub-committees
and working groups. It also shows public holidays. The diary shows meetings
from today onwards. To view previous meetings from May 1999 onwards enter
the date or search text in the appropriate box and click on Search Meetings.
Follow the links in the diary to view the documents available for the
meeting.
The Meeting Document word search facility allows all available
documents to be viewed. Follow the instructions on the Word Search page to search documents. You can
specify the committee, the date range or search for a word or phrase. To view all
meetings within the date range leave the Document Contents Phrase box blank.
These pages are best viewed in greater than 256 colours and you will need the Adobe Acrobat plug-in to view the documents.
