PHYSICAL ACTIVITY TRAINING PROGRAMME
A
Little Physical Activity Means A Lot
Is an innovative training resource developed by The Glasgow Physical Activity Forum to provide a range of professionals with the essential theoretical and practical knowledge required to encourage Physical Activity and to develop successful interventions.
The pack was initially launched to Higher and Further Education institutions in November of 2001 at Hamden International Stadium. The launch was deemed a success and it is anticipated that a further two launches will be planned for later in the year (one to Primary Care, the other to City Council employees).
A Train the Trainers course is currently being devised to run in conjunction with the pack. The aim of the course will be to assist those wishing to deliver the pack become familiar with its layout, develop their theoretical knowledge and devise a training framework through which the pack can be integrated into their organisation.
The course itself will be two fold:
a) A one day course for those with experience of training delivery
but in need of developing their knowledge of the pack
b) A three-day course for those with little or no prior experience of delivering
training.
It is anticipated that both these courses will be available from June 2002.
Two new additional sections will hopefully be ready to be integrated into the pack by September 2002. One will look to address the other will look at physical activity and disability.
